Michael Carrick claims that Manchester United really should be capable of cope regardless of a crippling list of injuries.
The midfielder – captaining United for their 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth in the absence of Wayne Rooney – says that injuries should really not be an excuse for a run of five games with victory.
United fielded a defence of Guillermo Varela, Paddy McNair, Daley Blind and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, giving a fillip to Bournemouth before the game, but Carrick insists United have enough squad depth to challenge for (come to fifa coins) the title.
;It’s been a tough one to take, a very disappointing week. Going out of the Champions League was obviously tough to take and we were very disappointed.
;And then to come here, we wanted to bounce back…we tried to bounce back and to fall short like we have is doubly disappointing.
;We’ve had a few injuries, but I’m not making any excuses. I thought the young lads did well. (go to fifa 16 coins) It was a tough one to come into, a tough two games. They’ve stepped in and done well.
;I don’t like making excuses, we’ve got the squad, we’re the club (come to buy fifa coins) that we are because we want to be fighting, when you’ve got injuries you’ve got to deal with them so I’m not making excuses.
;I could talk a lot, but at the end of the day it’s about the results. We need to have to get back, stick together and trust ourselves to do the right thing and bounce back next week.
;I’m just about getting back to work truly and working hard this week. We’re focused on next week to get back to winning games. That’s all we can focus on. I think it would be wrong to focus on anything else.;
