It’s official: The NHL will have a 31st group beginning together with the 2017-18 season.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman announced on Wednesday afternoon that the league hut legacy coins will be expanding and the newest team is going to become in Las Vegas, making it the first skilled sports group into the marketplace.
The Las Vegas team will likely be owned by Bill Foley and comes with an expansion fee of $500 million dollars.
“In the fall of 2017, when we celebrate the 100th birthday on the NHL Coins , we are going to do so as a League of 31 teams,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said inside a statement on Wednesday afternoon.
“We are pleased to welcome Bill Foley as well as the city of Las Vegas for the League and are really excited that an NHL franchise is going to be the initial major professional sports group within this vibrant, expanding, worldwide location city.”
Bettman stated the NHL board of governors gave expansion its unanimous support. It only necessary three quarters help to pass.
