Mike D’Antoni ‘happy as heck’ to be Sixers associate head coach

A little more than (vist cheap nba mt coins) a week just after getting hired to become the Philadelphia 76ers associate head coach, Mike D’Antoni officially joined the team on Saturday before they faced the Phoenix Suns, his former team. Brett Brown continues to be the Sixers head coach but D’Antoni, who was brought on by Philadelphia’s newly hired specific advisor (vist cheap buy NBA 2K16 MT ) Jerry Colangelo, is quite delighted to be in a secondary coaching function.

From the Arizona Republic‘s Paul Coro:

“I always wanted to get back in,” D’Antoni said right after Philadelphia’s Saturday shootaround. “I found out you can’t play golf in the wintertime, so I had to go to work.

“You’re always in it. You’re never out of it. But to become able now to actually talk to players and coaches, that’s the fun part of coaching. When you have a receptive group, as coaches and players, it really makes it fun. This is kind of what we coaches live for. It’s heaven-sent for me. I’m pleased as heck.”

D’Antoni (go to nba 2k16 mt for sale) was clear that it is “Brett’s gig.”

“The biggest factor why I’m here? Brett’s a great guy,” D’Antoni said. “Just after a while, you just want to become around good people and they’re good people. From all I’ve heard, the players are buying in and are good guys. As a coach, that’s all you want.”

Despite his losing record and the hiring of D’Antoni, Philadelphia is committed to building the group with Brown as the head coach and gave him a two-year extension in early December. D’Antoni is expected to help Brown develop and grow the plethora of young players the Sixers have. He will probably also install a new offensive system in Philadelphia that could be reminiscent of his previous stops with the Suns, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers. One reason the Sixers traded for Ish Smith was because D’Antoni likes the speedy guard’s game and thinks he can be an integral part of Philadelphia’s process.

Although it was only one game, D’Antoni’s presence on the bench helped the Sixers win their second game of the season on Saturday, defeating the Suns 111-104. A promising start for both D’Antoni and the Sixers.
